03182500 GREENBRIER RIVER AT BUCKEYE, WV
LOCATION - Lat 38°11'10.4", long 80°07'48.0" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Pocahontas County, WV, Hydrologic Unit 05050003, on left bank at downstream side of highway bridge at Buckeye, 50 ft upstream from Swago Creek, 3.7 mi downstream from Knapp Creek, and at mile 105.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 540 mi². includes that of Swago Creek.
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WSP 758: 1933. WSP 953: 1930-32, 1934-35(M), 1936, 1937(M), 1938-39, 1940(M). WSP 1275: 1936.

Revisions (2015-2018 WY) - Discharge for the following periods were revised on Nov. 19, 2018 based on changes to the stage-discharge rating as a result of relocating the gage 700 ft downstream from it's previous location.  In 2015, Sept. 18-21, Oct. 29-31, Nov. 10-12, 19-21, Dec. 1-6, 18-19, 23-31.  In 2016, Jan. 1-2, 10-14, Feb. 1-4, 10-11, 16-17, 21-22, 25, Mar. 13-22, Apr. 8-17, 27-30, May 1-28, June 3-8, 17-18, 22-30, July 1, 4-10, 14-16, Aug. 8, Sept. 3-26, 28-30, Oct. 1-4, 8-12, Nov. 30, Dec. 1-3, 7-9, 18-22, 24-31.  In 2017, Jan. 1-8, 13-28, Mar. 16-17, 19-25, 27-31, Apr. 1-10, May 5-9, 12-31, June 1-4, 15-21, 24-26, July 6-9, 30-31, Aug. 1-3, 8-9, Oct. 9-11, 23-27, 29-31, Nov. 8-9.  The maximum discharge for the 2016 water year was revised from 25,500 cfs to 30,100 cfs on June 23, 2016 at 2215 hrs and for the 2017 water year from 8,270 cfs to 10,500 cfs on May 25, 2017 at 0930 hrs.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1929 to current year (daily discharge and peaks).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 2,085.70 ft above NAVD 88. Sept. 26, 1929 to June 17, 2015, at site 600 ft upstream on right bank at old bridge crossing, same datum. Non-recording gage at same site and datum from Sept. 26, 1929 to Feb. 27, 1939.
REMARKS - Maximum peak flow of 82,000 ft³/s from rating curve extended above 33,000 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow, highest since 1896. Maximum peak stage of 23.20 ft from floodmarks.
