03189100 GAULEY RIVER NEAR CRAIGSVILLE, WV
LOCATION - Lat 38°17'27", long 80°38'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Nicholas County, WV, Hydrologic Unit 05050005, on right bank at downstream side of highway bridge on State Highway 20, 200 ft downstream from Cherry River, 1.8 mi downstream from Cranberry River, 2.7 mi south of Craigsville, and at mile 61.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 529 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR WV-82-1: Drainage area.

Discharges for the period June 22-23, 27, 30, July 21-Aug. 8, 12-16, 20-31, Sept. 1-4, 9-30 for the 2016 water year and Oct. 1-4, 8, 10-18, 21-22, 24-31, Nov. 1-30, May 30-31, June 1-11, 14, 16-30, July 1, 5-16 of the 2017 water year were revised on Mar. 27, 2018 based on changes to the stage-discharge relationship.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 1,869.61 ft above NAVD 88. 
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of July 4, 1932, is estimated as 65,000 ft³/s and flood of July 19, 1954, is estimated as 55,000 ft³/s on the basis of discharge-area comparison with Gauley River at Camden on Gauley (03187000) and Gauley River near Summersville (03189500).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 80,200 ft³/s, June 23, 2016, gage height, 29.04 ft.  Minimum daily discharge, 8.27 ft³/s, Sept. 12, 1995.
