LOCATION - Lat 38°24'48", long 82°30'02" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Cabell County, WV, Hydrologic Unit 05090101, on right bank at Sybene, 0.1 mile upstream from Fourpole Creek, 3.0 mi downstream from Symmes Creek, and at mile 311.5, measured downstream from Pittsburgh, PA.
DRAINAGE AREA - 55,906 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2007: 1990-2006, gage height.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1934 to September 1968 (daily discharge and annual maxima), October 1968 to September 1986 (daily mean discharges greater than 50,000 ft³/s and annual maxima), October 1986 to September 1993 (daily mean gage height and annual maximum gage height), October 1993 to September 2008 (annual maximum gage height), October 2008 to September 2012 (annual maximum and minimum gage height), October 2012 to current year (daily mean gage height). Gage-height records collected at same site since 1913 are in reports of National Weather Service.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 489.2 ft above NAVD88. 

Superseded datums: 489.16 ft above NAVD 88 (VERTCON conversion of 489.76 ft above NGVD 29, levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to July 8, 1942, at datum 1.74 ft higher. Prior to Sept. 30, 1986, auxiliary water-stage recorder 4.7 mi upstream at datum 490.10 ft above COE 12.

REMARKS - Flow regulated by Ohio River system of locks, dams, and reservoirs upstream.
