LOCATION - Lat 38°00'42.6", long 82°18'21.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Wayne County, WV, Hydrologic Unit 05090102, on right bank 750 feet below McComas Branch, 1.0 mi upstream from Maynard Branch, 2.4 mi upstream from Devilstrace Branch, 6.8 mi east of Dunlow, and at mile 61.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 38 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1964 to current year (daily discharge and peaks).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 717.45 ft above NAVD 88. Dec. 22, 1964 to Aug. 14, 2013, at site 0.9 mi. downstream at datum 8.16 ft lower. Prior to Dec. 22, 1964, nonrecording gage at site 0.9 miles downstream at same datum as previous site.
REMARKS - Maximum peak flow at site 0.9 miles downstream from present site, 5,100 cfs on Dec. 9, 1978, from rating curve extended above 1,300 cfs on basis of slope-area measurements at gage heights 15.84 and 13.18 ft (at datum 8.16 feet lower) and slope-conveyance determination.
