LOCATION - Lat 37°34'01", long 82°27'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Pike County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05070203, on right bank 100 feet upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 119, 1,100 feet downstream from Ford Branch, 0.7 miles upstream from Raccoon Creek, 1.2 miles southwest of Meta, and at mile 42.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 56.3 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1705: Drainage area. WRD KY-76-1: WRD KY-87-1: 1986.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1941 to September 1993, October 1994 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with telemetry.  Datum of gage is 714.91 feet above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Formerly 715.66 feet above NGVD of 1929.  Prior to October 1, 1964, water-stage recorder at site 1,200 feet upstream at datum 1.52 feet higher. October 1, 1964 to December 21, 1965, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. Gage was relocated on May 27, 2015 to the bridge slightly downstream of previous retaining same gage datum.
COOPERATION - Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District and National Stream Information Program.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of 1939 reached a stage of 15.6 feet, from floodmark, present datum, at site 600 feet upstream, discharge, 4,500 ft³/s.
