LOCATION - Lat 40°34'19", long 83°23'03" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Marion County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05060001, on left upstream side of State Route 37 bridge, 0.2 mi south of LaRue, 2.9 mi downstream from Wildcat Creek, 3.1 mi upstream from Rush Creek.

DRAINAGE AREA - 257 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1926 to December 1935, January 1938 to December 1951, October 2009 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 909.69 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to July 5, 1929, nonrecording gage at site 2,200 ft upstream at datum 910.24 ft (1912 adjustment). July 5, 1929 to Dec. 31, 1951, water-stage recorder at site 2,000 ft upstream at same datum. Oct. 1, 2009 to Sept. 30, 2012 at current site and same datum.

Dec. 28, 2017 to Feb. 13, 2018: discharge records good except for periods of estimated record, which are poor. Feb. 14, 2018 to June 4, 2018: discharge records good. June 5, 2018 to Aug. 1, 2018: discharge records good. Aug. 2, 2018 to Nov. 12, 2018: discharge records fair.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Mar. 26, 1913 reached a stage of 17.8 ft. Flood of Jan. 21, 1959 reached a stage of 14.2 ft in gage well, 15.3 ft from outside floodmark; discharge, 16,300 ft³/s, based on contracted-opening measurement of peak flow.
