LOCATION - Lat 39°20'29", long 82°58'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Ross County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05060002, on right bank, 1,400 ft downstream from Bridge Street bridge, 7.4 mi upstream from Paint Creek, and 15.4 mi downstream from Deer Creek.

DRAINAGE AREA - 3,849 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1913 to September 1914 (gage heights and discharge measurements only). October 1920 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1305. Gage-height records collected in this vicinity since 1907 are contained in reports of the National Weather Service.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 593.57 ft (NAVD 1988) (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to October 2010 datum was 594.05 ft (NGVD 1929). Prior to Sept. 30, 1914, nonrecording gage at site 1,300 ft upstream at different datum; Apr. 1, 1921-Aug. 6, 1930, nonrecording gage, at site 1,400 ft upstream at (NGVD 1929) datum; Aug. 7, 1930-Sept. 30, 1969, water-stage recorder 900 ft upstream at (NGVD 1929) datum.

REMARKS - Records for 2014 fair. Estimated records are poor. Flow regulated by 6 reservoirs 36 mi to 91 mi upstream from station. Water-quality data formerly collected at this site. For the period Jul. 30, 2015 to Dec. 28, 2015, discharge records fair except for estimated discharges which are poor. For the period Dec. 29, 2015 to Apr. 20, 2016, discharge records rated good. For the period Apr. 21, 2016 to Dec. 22, 2016, discharge records rated fair. For the period Dec. 23, 2016 to Apr. 13, 2017, discharge records rated fair. For the period Apr. 14, 2017 to Nov. 10, 2017, discharge records rated good except for May 12-15, 2017 and Nov. 11-13, 2017 which are poor. For the period Nov. 14, 2017 to Dec. 2, 2018, discharge records rated fair except for estimated discharges which are poor. Record quality ratings may not be included in the water-year summary for approved records newer than 09/30/2018. Record quality is still being rated internally.
