LOCATION - Lat 39°13'06", long 83°23'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Highland County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05060003, Gage traffic box on DS left bridge abutment, 1.1 mi north of Barretts Mills (at Hwy 1, not shown on maps), 2 mi east of Rainsboro, 3.1 mi upstream from mouth on Paint Cr., and 6.2 mi downstream from Rocky Fork Lake. Mouth of Rocky Fork Cr. at Paint Cr. is 3.1 mi. DS of Paint Cr. Dam.

DRAINAGE AREA - 140 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1939 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 770.24 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to February 2015 datum was 770.8 ft (NGVD 1929) (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Feb. 15, 1940, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.

REMARKS -

WY 2014: Records fair except for estimated record, which is poor. WY 2015: Records fair except for estimated record, which is poor. Oct. 1, 2015 to Feb. 3, 2016: discharge records fair. Feb. 4 to Aug. 23, 2016: discharge records good. Aug. 24, 2016 to Dec. 21, 2016: discharge records fair. For the period Dec. 22, 2016 to Dec. 21, 2017, discharge records rated fair. For the period Dec. 22, 2017 to Aug. 22, 2018, discharge records fair except for estimated discharges which are poor. For the period Aug. 23, 2018 to Nov. 28, 2018, discharge records good except for discharges above 2000 cfs which are fair and estimated discharges which are poor. Flow regulated by upstream reservoir since 1952. Water-quality data formerly collected at this site.
