USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
03288110 ROYAL SPRINGS AT GEORGETOWN, KY
LOCATION - Lat 38°12'34", long 84°33'43" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Scott County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05100205, on the right bank of discharge culvert at Georgetown Water Plant, and 0.64 miles upstream from North Elkhorn Creek.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Datum of gage was previously reported as 797.16 ft above NGVD of 1929.  This datum was revised on Nov 30, 2022.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1992 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with crest stage gage for peak verification in lower pool and FT Clip still in use in upper pool.  Datum is 797.12 feet above NAVD of 1988 and 797.69 ft above NGVD of 1929.  Prior to Oct. 1, 1995, datum 1.0 ft. lower.
REMARKS - Regulated by Georgetown Water Plant on a daily basis.  Control gate for the gage is infrequently moved by water plant employees during higher flows which require discharge estimation.  At times the gate is re-seated in a different position either not all the way down in the slot causing leakage underneath or deeper in the slot causing lowering of control GZF.  There are times that water is drawn from the upper gage pool during dry periods that actually drop the gage to zero flow.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 2240 ft³/s, Mar. 1, 1997, gage height 7.30 ft.
