LOCATION - Lat 38°08'20", long 86°43'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.27, T.4 S., R.3 W., Perry County, IN, Hydrologic Unit 05140201, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 145 at Bristow, 2.0 mi downstream from Coon Branch, 6.0 mi upstream from Sulphur Fork Creek, and at mile 14.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 39.8 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR IN-72-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1961 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder.  Datum of gage 394.10 above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Formerly 395.00 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. 
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Forest Service and Middle Fork Anderson River Conservancy District control structures, beginning June 1967.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Jan. 21, 1959, reached a stage of 20.0 ft, from floodmark, discharge 15,000 ft³/s from rating curve extended above 7,000 ft³/s. This is the maximum flood since 1905, from information by local resident.
