LOCATION - Lat 38°22'49", long 87°13'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.32, T.1 S., R.7 W., Pike County, IN, Hydrologic Unit 05120209, on upstream side of State Highway 61 bridge, 165 ft downstream from dam of Winslow Water Company, and 41.3 mi above mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 603 mi². drainage area derived from the "Drainage Areas of Indiana Streams" publication
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1963 to September 1974, May 1986 to current year. Discharge measurements and gage readings June 1961 to September 1963, obtained by State of Indiana, Department of Natural Resources, are available in the district office.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is and 399.53 ft above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 and 400.00 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (levels by State of Indiana, Department of Natural Resources). Prior to Nov. 21, 1963, nonrecording gage on downstream side of bridge 65 ft downstream at same datum.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Patoka Lake.  Minor diversion 100 ft above gage.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in January 1937 reached a stage of 28.9 ft, from floodmarks, information from State of Indiana, Department of Natural Resources.
