LOCATION - Lat 37°44'17", long 88°30'05" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.13, T.9 S., R.6 E., Saline County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 05140204, on downstream side of IL Rte 13 bridge, 2 mi east of Harrisburg, and at mile 4.6.
DRAINAGE AREA - 225 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE
  DISCHARGE: October 1922 to September 1932.
  STAGE: August 2011 to current.
  PARTIAL RECORD: Miscellaneous measurements, water year 2012.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite telemeter, and reference point. Datum of gage is 327.56 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Sept. 30, 1932, datum of gage was 337.89 ft. (revised) above NGVD of 1929.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 1918 reached about 22 feet, site and datum then in use.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 4,050 ft³/s June 21, 1928, gage height, 21.51 ft, site and datum then in use; minimum, 0.2 ft³/s Sept. 21, 22, 26, 27, 1931. Maximum stage, 34.31 ft, May 1, 2017, current site and datum, minimum stage, 7.96 ft, July 21, 2012, current datum.
