LOCATION - Lat 36°07'47.74", long 86°45'39.78" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Davidson County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 05130202, on downstream side of bridge on access road to pit area of the race track at State Fairgrounds, 300 ft west of Craighead Avenue, 0.3 mi upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 31A and 41A. Lat 36°07'41.4", long 86°45'45.9" referenced to NAD83/NAVD88, Davidson County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 05130202, on right top bank downstream of first bridge upstream, 850 ft from above site.
DRAINAGE AREA - 11.8 mi². 11.52 mi² at new site upstream, as calculated by streamstats 7-29-2013.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR TN-94-1: 1975 (p).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1963 to September 1975. August 1993 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Gage destroyed May 31, 2013; moved to upstream site at datum 444.30 NAD83/NAVD88. The gage was destroyed at the Fairgrounds Pit entrance on May 31, 2013. A new structure was installed at the first upstream bridge and began collecting data on June 6, 2013 with no change in the site ID.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 8,540 ft³/s, May 2, 2010, gage height, 13.44 ft. from high water mark; minimum discharge, 0.15 ft³/s, Sept. 5, 1973, also occurred one or more days 1953-56, 1964-65, 1994.
