LOCATION - Lat 35°56'53.17", long 86°52'54.27" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Williamson County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 05130204, on right bank of U.S. Highway 431 bridge, 1.2 mi downstream from Spencer Creek, 1.8 mi northwest of the courthouse in Franklin, and at mile 84.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 210 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1988 to September 1999, discharge for gage height of 6.00 ft and below only. October 1999 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform and crest stage gage. Datum of gage is 594.553 (NAVD 88).
COOPERATION - City of Franklin, Tennessee in conjunction with the USGS National Streamflow Information Program.
REMARKS - Records good except for discharges above 15,000 ft³/s, which are fair and other periods as noted. Periods when discharges fall below 5.0 cfs and estimated daily discharges are rated poor. Flow is affected by Franklin sewage treatment plant outflow 1.1 mi upstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 20,900 ft³/s, May 2, 2010; gage height, 32.31 ft, May 2, 2010; minimum discharge, 2.8 ft³/s, October 11, 2010 ; minimum daily, 4.1 ft³/s, August 18, 1988.
