LOCATION - Lat 35°30'44", long 82°34'38" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Buncombe County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 06010105,
DRAINAGE AREA - 679 mi².  
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 21, 2019 to current year.
COOPERATION - The water quality aspect of this site is run in cooperation with the NC Department of Transportation.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water quality data is collected using a calibrated YSI EXO3 multiparameter sonde that collects continuous temperature, conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity data. Another calibrated YSI EXO3 multiparameter sonde is used a field meter during routine site visits. Sondes are routinely calibrated and swapped out every 8 weeks. 
REMARKS - Station operated to define water-quality characteristics in the French Broad River Basin.

Maximum Temperature: 28.9° C on August 25, 2023; Minimum Temperature: 0.0° C on December 25, 26, 2022  

Maximum Specific Conductance: 121 µs/cm; January 20, 2022; Minimum Specific Conductance: 20 µs/cm on January 11, 12, 2023 

Maximum Dissolved Oxygen: 13.8 mg/L on December 26, 2022; Minimum Dissolved Oxygen: 5.7 mg/L on August 20, 22, 2021

Maximum pH: 9.2 standard units on May 24, 25, 26, 2023; Minimum pH: 6.2 standard units on January 12, 13, 14, February 7, 8, 2020, July 31, 2022
