03455500 WEST FORK PIGEON RIVER ABOVE LAKE LOGAN NEAR HAZELWOOD, NC
LOCATION - Lat 35°23'46", long 82°56'15" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Haywood County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 06010106, on right bank at upstream side of bridge on Secondary Road 1216, 600 ft upstream from Big Creek, 1.1 miles upstream from Lake Logan, 6.7 miles southeast of Hazelwood, and 9.3 miles about mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 27.6 mi². (measured by TVA from topographic maps, scale 1:24,000). Basin entirely within the boundaries of Pisgah National Forest and has heavy hardwood forest cover with dense undercover. Basin not populated with the exception of a few scattered camp sites. Annual rainfall, 55-60 inches.

GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 2,976.24 ft above NAVD of 1988. Satellite and telephone telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally good except for estimated discharges, which are fair. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height from high-water mark. Maximum discharge from rating curve extended above 7,500 ft³/s on basis of slope area measurement of peak flow.
