03501500 LITTLE TENNESSEE RIVER AT FRANKLIN, NC
LOCATION - Lat 35°11'09", long 83°22'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Macon County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 06010202, on right bank 4000 ft downstream of Cullasaja River, 2.5 miles downstream of Cartoogechaye Creek, 3.5 miles upstream of Porters Bend Dam, and at river mile 117.4.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1909 to March 1990, April 1921 to September 1921, and December 20, 2013 to February 1, 2016.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and acoustic velocity meter. Datum of gage is 1,992 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (from topographic map). April 1909 to March 1910, and April 1921 to September 1925, gage at a location 300 ft downstream of current site at a different datum. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Affected by backwater and occasional slight regulation caused by Porters Bend Dam on Lake Emory. 
2014 - Records good except those for January 7 and 8, which are fair.
2015 - Records good.
2016 - Records good except those with estimated daily discharges, which are fair.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 13,100 cfs, December 24, 2015; maximum gage height, 11.41 ft, December 24, 2015; minimum discharge, 65 cfs, September 22, 1925.
