03501975 LITTLE TENNESSEE RIVER AB NC HWY 28 AT IOTLA, NC
LOCATION - Lat 35°13'58.3", long 83°23'29.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Macon County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 06010202, on Secondary Road 1335, 0.25 mile upstream from junction of NC Hwy 28 at bridge crossing Little Tennessee River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 323 mi². (measured by TVA from topographic maps, scale 1:24,000). Basin is fairly well populated except the small portion that lies within the Nantahala National Forest; generally characterized by small farms in the valleys, woodland on the steep slopes. There are several small towns and communities scattered throughout the basin. The mean annual precipitation is 55-65 inches.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Gage datum was revised on October 01, 2021 based on an error in the determination of the gage datum.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1958.64 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS -

Considerable fluctuation caused by Porters Bend Power Plant at Lake Emory, 2.5 mi upstream.
