LOCATION - Lat 37°05'10", long 81°46'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Tazewell County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 06010205, on right bank 1.0 mi southeast of Richlands, 1.6 mi downstream from Middle Creek, 2.2 mi upstream from Big Creek, and at mile 321.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 137 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Peak Gage Height and Discharge for 2007 WY was found in error. 2007 WY peak gage height updated from 16.01ft to 6.01ft  and peak discharge from 7310cfs to 1510cfs on Feb. 11, 2020.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1946 to 1989 (operated as a continuous-record gaging station), 1990 to 2013 (discontinued).
GAGE - Crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,924.08 ft NGVD of 1929.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 11,500 ft³/s, June 22, 1901, gage height, 21.3 ft, (records provided by Tennessee Valley Authority).
