LOCATION - Lat 36°06'51.60", long 83°59'17.74" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Knox County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 06010207, on left bank on downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 441, 2.1 mi downstream from Smith Branch, 4 mi northwest of Halls Crossroads, and at mile 16.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 68.5 mi².

GAGE - Data Collection Platform. Datum of gage is 854.50 ft NAVD88.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 18,300 ft³/s, April 4, 1977, gage height, 13.28 ft, from rating curve extended above 5,000 ft³/s on basis of contracted-opening measurement of peak flow; minimum, 2.5 ft³/s, Aug. 12, 1974, caused by regulation upstream of unknown origin.
