LOCATION - Lat 34°37'27", long 86°18'23" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Jackson County, AL, Hydrologic Unit 06030002, NW 1/4 sec. 10, T.5S., R.3E., on downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 72, 1,000 ft downstream from Southern Railway bridge, 2 mi west of Woodville, 4.1 mi upstream from Little Paint Creek, and at mile 26.6.
DRAINAGE AREA - 320 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1936 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 571.016 (NAVD 88). Dec. 23, 1935, to Jan. 16, 1938, nonrecording gage at same site.
REMARKS - Records good except for estimated daily discharges which are poor and other periods as noted.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 74,200 ft³/s, March 16, 1973, gage height 24.40 ft. Minimum discharge, 1.3 ft³/s, October 21, 1954.
