LOCATION - Lat 46°30'41", long 90°04'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.32, T.48 N., R.46 W., Gogebic County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04020101, on right bank 250 ft downstream from bridge on county highway, 300 ft downstream from Powder Mill Creek, and 2.5 mi northwest of Bessemer.
DRAINAGE AREA - 200 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1911: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1954 to September 1982, October 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,154.2 ft. above NAVD 88, converted on July 9, 2020 from NGVD 29 (levels by registered surveyor).
REMARKS - Prior to 1967, flow included some ground water pumped from mines at Bessemer.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 14,800 ft³/s, Apr. 24, 1960, gage height, 14.27 ft, from floodmark, from rating curve extended above 7,700 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow; minimum discharge, 5.6 ft³/s, Sept. 6, 7, 2007.
