04087070 LITTLE MENOMONEE RIVER AT MILWAUKEE, WI

LOCATION - Lat 43°07'25", long 88°02'37" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.29, T.8 N., R.21 E., Milwaukee County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 04040003, on right bank about 250 ft downstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 41.

DRAINAGE AREA - 19.7 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1974 to September 1977, April 2004 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 695.20 ft above NAVD of 1988, from GPS. The survey was done on July 4, 2022, by USGS personnel using a Topcon Hyper VR rover in combination with the FC5000 field tablet. Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.000), GEOID18. Before July 4, 2022, datum of gage was said to be 700 ft above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.

REMARKS -

Records are considered good except for those for estimated discharges, discharges below 1.0 ft³/s, which are poor, and periods listed below. For records status prior to October 1, 2013, see remarks printed in annual water-data reports.

October 04, 2018 to June 06/2019 is rated poor due to uncertainty in the gage height data due to a faulty pressure transducer.
