04087088 UNDERWOOD CREEK AT WAUWATOSA, WI
LOCATION - Lat 43°03'17", long 88°02'46" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.20, T.7 N., R.21 E., Milwaukee County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 04040003, 325 ft east of highway 100 on right bank, 0.4 mi upstream of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad bridge, 0.2 mi downstream from the Mayfair Rd. (Hwy 100) bridge, on Milwaukee County Park Commission property, at Wauwatosa, and 1.6 mi upstream from mouth. Water quality data was collected here from February 11, 2010 to present.
DRAINAGE AREA - 18.1 mi².

GAGE -

Oct. 3, 2016 to present: Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 680.14 ft NAVD88. The NAVD of 1988 datum of gage was determined by a Real-Time Network survey using the statewide Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reference station network, called the Wisconsin Continuously Operating Reference Stations (WISCORS) Network.  The survey was done on 12/7/2023 by USGS personnel using a Topcon Hyper VR rover in combination with the FC5000 field tablet. Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.000), GEOID18. GWSI Method Code: GNSS4. GWSI Altitude Accuracy: 0.04 ft.

Oct. 1 to Feb. 22, 2010: Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage at site, 1970 ft upstream from prior location. Datum of gage is 680.0 ft above NAVD of 1988 (Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission benchmark). From Feb. 23, 2010 to Oct. 1, 2011 it was at 683.5 NAVD88. Prior to Sept. 10, 1993, the orifice was located 10 ft downstream from Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad bridge at datum 690 (from topo map). From Sept. 10, 1993 to Feb. 28, 2009 the orifice was located 30 ft upstream from the railroad bridge at 683.5 NAVD88. From March 1, 2009 to February 22, 2010 the orifice was located 100 ft downstream from the railroad bridge (below a channel drop) at 678.7 NAVD88.

REMARKS - Records are considered good, except for periods of greater than 700 ft³/s which are fair, and periods of estimated record, which are rated poor, and other periods as noted.
