LOCATION - Lat 41°29'34", long 85°26'55" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.14, T.35 N., R.9 E., Noble County, IN, Hydrologic Unit 04050001, (ALBION, IN., quadrangle), on the right bank in the public fishing site, just west of County Road 125 W at Dukes Bridge and about 6.8 mi north of Albion, IN.
DRAINAGE AREA - 134 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Datum inadvertently published as 800.00 ft. from 2007 to August 14, 2018.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1947 to May 2016, May 2016 to April 2018 (discontinued). April 2018 to current year.
GAGE -

A water-stage recorder with satellite telemetery installed in an aluminum shelter over a 15-inch diameter stilling well. An auxiliary wire-weight gage is attached to the upstream side of Dukes Bridge.

DATUM OF GAGE.--879.57 ft above NAVD88, from GPS survey on 11/28/2018.  Formerly, 880 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.

SURFACE AREA.--216 acres.

ESTABLISHED LEGAL LEVEL.--5.55 ft gage datum or 885.55 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 as decreed on May 6, 1968, by the Noble County Circuit Court. Jones, Steinbarger and Tamarack Lakes, all near Cosperville, have the same established level as Waldron Lake and hence the same lake levels for the period of record.

LAKE-LEVEL CONTROL.--The level of the lake is controlled by a fixed-crest concrete dam with removable boards.

INLET AND OUTLET.--The North Branch of the Elkhart River flows through the lake, entering through Jones Lake at the north and leaving at the west end of Waldron Lake. Another inlet enters at the southeast from Steinbarger Lake, 0.1 mi upstream.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage, 10.16 ft Mar. 22, 1982; minimum stage, 4.44 ft Aug. 9-11, Sept. 14-17, 1964.
