LOCATION - Lat 43°25'19", long 83°57'07" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.24, T.12 N., R.4 E., Saginaw County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04080206, on left bank 150 ft downstream from bridge on Holland Avenue in Saginaw. Gage structure is on Marshall E. Campbell property. Gage address is 1106 N. Niagra St., Unit B, Saginaw, MI.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6,060 mi². approximately.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2011: 2010.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1904, 1908-9, 1912-13, 1916, 1918-19, 1929-30, and 1942 (flood discharge for certain periods only) in WSP 1084; December 1942 to September 1991 and October 1994 to September 1996, daily discharges greater than 10,000 ft³/s only; no daily discharges greater than 10,000 ft³/s water years 1944, 1949, 1953, 1955, 1958, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1966. Continuous-record station October 1991 to July 1994, and October 1996 to current year. Gage-height records for flood seasons 1910-20 are contained in reports of National Weather Service. Prior to Oct. 1, 2012, published as "at Saginaw".
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage and acoustic velocity meter. Datum of gage is 565.79 ft above IGLD 85. Prior to Oct. 1, 2012, at site 1.0 mi upstream at different datum (station 04157000).
REMARKS - Minimum flows affected by wind direction and seiche on Saginaw Bay, 19.3 miles downstream. Considerable diversion through metropolitan area of Saginaw.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Prior to 1992, highest daily mean, 67,800 ft³/s, Mar. 29, 1904. Maximum discharge, 68,000 ft³/s, Mar. 29, 1904, gage height, 24.90 ft, includes water years 1904-91, site and datum then in use.

WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum 31.6°C, July 7, 2012, July 18, 2013; minimum, -0.1°C, Jan. 20, 2020. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Maximum, 15.5 mg/L, July 4, 2016; minimum, 2.3 mg/L, Aug. 27, 2022. TURBIDITY: Maximum, 520 FNU, May. 21, 2020; minimum, 0.1 FNU, June 28, 30, July 5, 2016.
