LOCATION - Lat 42°37'45", long 82°53'20" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 sec.35, T.3 N., R.13 E., Macomb County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04090003, on left bank at upstream side of bridge on State Highway 59, 2 mi north of Mount Clemens, and 3.6 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 199 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1437: 1948. WSP 1557: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1947 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Concrete control since September 1961. Datum of gage is 575.84 ft above NAVD 88, converted on July 9, 2020 from NGVD 29 (levels by Michigan Department of Natural Resources). Prior to Nov. 15, 1949 and Oct. 3, 1997 to Apr. 22, 1998, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
REMARKS - Some regulation at times by mill upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 6,830 ft³/s, May 24, 2004, gage height, 20.34 ft; minimum discharge, 0.08 ft³/s, July 4-10, 14, 15, 1988.
