LOCATION - Lat 41°22'57", long 84°24'58" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Defiance County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 04100006, Lat 41°22'57", long 84°24'58" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Defiance County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 04100006, The gage is located just NE of Defiance, roughly 7.8 miles from the Defiance town center. The stream gage is on right bank on the downstream side of bridge on Evansport Road/County Road 150 about 4.0 mi north of intersection with SR 15 and about 3.5 mi South of Evansport, OH.
DRAINAGE AREA - 563 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1, 2013 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 657.75 ft (NAVD 1988).
REMARKS -

For the period Oct. 1, 2014 to Oct. 19, 2016, records fair except for estimated discharges which are poor. Oct. 19, 2016 to Nov. 30, 2016: discharge records fair.  Dec. 1, 2016 to Jan. 19, 2017: discharge records poor.  Jan. 20, 2017 to Oct. 4, 2017: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which is poor. Oct. 4, 2017 to Jul. 12, 2018: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which is poor. Jul. 12, 2018 to Oct. 24, 2018: discharge records good.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
REMARKS - As part of the Western Lake Erie Basin project, water-quality sampling began in October 2013 and water-quality concentrations and loads began being computed in March 2014. Automatic samples are collected with an ISCO auto sampler that is housed in the gage house. Monthly and rainfall-runoff event cross sectional samples are collected at this station. Sampling includes: Suspended-sediment (80154), Nitrogen, ammonia as N (00608), Nitrogen, ammonia + organic nitrogen (total, whole water, also known as total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN); 00625), Nitrogen, nitrite + nitrate (filtered water; 00631), Phosphorus, phosphate, ortho (also know as dissolved reactive phosphorus (DRP) or soluble reactive phosphorus; 00671), and Phosphorus (total, whole water; 00665).
