LOCATION - Lat 43°19'31", long 76°38'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Cayuga County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 04140101, on right bank at Sterling, 25 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 104A, 1.8 mi southwest of Sterling Valley, and 1.9 mi upstream from Sterling Valley Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 44.4 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-NY-85-3: 1960(M), 1979-80(M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1957 to March 1995, October 2017 to September 2019 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 259.37 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Oct. 2017, at site 35 ft downstream at datum of 264.69 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Water Years 2018-19: Records good except those for estimated daily discharges and those above 500 ft³/s, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,760 ft³/s, Mar. 22, 1980, gage height, 5.99 ft, site and datum then in use; minimum discharge, 0.32 ft³/s, Sept. 14, 1966, gage height, 1.50 ft, site and datum then in use.
