LOCATION - Lat 42°23'35", long 76°32'42" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Tompkins County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 04140201, on left bank 0.8 mi upstream from Enfield (formerly Butternut) Creek, 5.0 mi south of Ithaca, and 5.5 mi upstream of Cayuga Lake.
DRAINAGE AREA - 35.2 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 2112: Drainage area. WDR NY-74-1: 1973.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1937 to September 2012.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 434.16 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by Corps of Engineers). Prior to June 15, 2005, at site 250 ft upstream at datum 3.00 ft higher.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,600 ft³/s, July 8, 1935, provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 7,190 ft³/s, Sept. 8, 2011, gage height, 9.82 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,200 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of discharge; minimum discharge, 1.7 ft³/s, July 22, 1955.
