LOCATION - Lat 44°27'42", long 73°06'47" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Chittenden County, Hydrologic Unit 04150403, on left bank, 25 ft. downstream from Essex Road(VT 2A), 0.2 mi. south of Mountain View Road and Essex Road intersection, 0.8 mi. north of Essex Road (VT 2A) and Theodore Roosevelt Highway (US 2)intersection at Tafts Corner, 2.0 mi. south of Park Street (VT 2A), Lincoln Street (VT 2A), Pearl Street (VT 15), and Maple Street (VT 15) intersection in Essex Junction, and 2.3 mi. upstream from mouth of Muddy Brook.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9.90 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge Records: August 20, 2005 to November 5, 2013 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest stage gage. Elevation of gage is 320 ft. above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and USGS Cooperative Water Program.
REMARKS - For water year 2014 records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 1,880 ft³/s, June 25, 2013, gage height, 7.19 ft, from rating curve extended above 360 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow; minimum discharge, 0.08 ft³/s, September 3, 4, 2012.
