LOCATION - Lat 46°01'20", long 97°30'40" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.36, T.130 N., R.55 W., Sargent County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 09020105, on right bank 1,000 ft upstream from bridge on county highway, 2 mi south of Rutland, and 10 mi upstream from Lake Tewaukon.
DRAINAGE AREA - 546 mi² of which 250 mi² probably is noncontributing.

Mean Gage Heights (MGH) associated with discharge measurements #592-595 were revised on July 7, 2020, based on changes to the primary reference sensor elevation.

Gage Heights and Discharges for the period March 1, 2019, to Sept 30, 2019 and for March 1, 2020, were revised on July 15, 2020, based on changes to the primary reference sensor elevation.

Water-stage recorder. Datum of the gage is 1198.82 feet above North American Vertical Datum 1988 (NAVD88) and 1,197.73 feet above National Geodetic Vertical Datum 1929 (NGVD29).

REMARKS -

Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for the 2019 water year, when record was fair.  Estimated discharges are poor, except for estimated discharges for July 19-Aug 12, 2019, which were good.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow, 2,700 ft³/s, April 3, 1997, peak stage, 10.11 ft; maximum peak stage, 10.27 ft, March 19, 2010, backwater from ice.
