Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for the 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023 water years, when records were rated fair. Estimated discharges are poor, unless otherwise noted.
REGULATION AND DIVERSION.--Records are for the flow that is diverted from the Sheyenne River at this location. When flows are greater than about 1,000 ft³/s at Sheyenne River above Sheyenne River Diversion near Horace (station 05059300), diversions are made in order to control flood discharges downstream. The diverted flow returns to the Sheyenne River main channel at a location about 13 mi downstream, below the city of West Fargo.
