LOCATION - Lat 48°11'38", long 97°08'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in sec.06, T.154 N., R.50 W., Marshall County, MN, Hydrologic Unit 09020306, on bridge crossing the Red River of the North, 0.5 mile west of Oslo, and at Mile 271.2.
DRAINAGE AREA - 31,200 mi² of which 3,800 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Maximum discharge for water year 2020 was revised on May 5, 2021, based on changes to the shifting of the stage-discharge rating.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DAILY DISCHARGE--1936-37, 1941-47 (high-water periods only), April 1948 to September 1960 (spring and summer months only), October 1973 to September 1976, October 1984 to September 2001 (peak gage height and discharge only), April 2002 to current year (maximum discharge only).

GAGE - Water stage recorder.Datum of gage is 773.74 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Prior to conversion to NAVD88, datum was  published as 772.79 ft above NGVD29.

For periods 1936, 1937, 1941-47; non-recording gage at railroad bridge 200 ft. upstream at datum 777.79 ft above NGVD29. 

April 1948 to September 6, 1959; non-recording gage at former highway bridge 620 ft. downstream at datum 777.79 ft above NGVD29. 

REMARKS -

Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records fair except for the 2022 water year, when record was good.  Estimated discharges are poor, unless otherwise noted.

Miscellaneous discharge measurements were made during the water year.
