LOCATION - Lat 48°35'16", long 100°26'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.23, T.159 N., R.76 W., McHenry County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 09010004, on left bank 50 ft downstream from culverts on county road, 1.5 mi upstream from Snake Creek, and 7 mi west of Willow City.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,160 mi² of which 430 mi² probably is noncontributing.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DAILY DISCHARGE--August 1956 to current year.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--DAILY GAGE HEIGHT--October 2000 to current year.
GAGE - In Aug. 2015, datum of gage was converted to North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988. Datum of gage 1,431.20, NAVD of 1988. Datum of gage was 1,430 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929, from topographic map. {The description (prior to S.M. Robinson update on 9/18/12) indicated the datum was derived as "determined from USC & GS BM D351 1935" (elevation 1,460.588) Lat. 46*36'10.50", Long. 100*23'9.28". There is no indication or evidence that the datum was ever leveled into a BM; if so, the records were lost.}.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted.
