LOCATION - Lat 48°35'03", long 100°51'44" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.22, T.159 N., R.79 W., McHenry County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 09010005, 60 ft downstream from county highway bridge, 0.8 mi downstream from Little Deep River, and 6.3 mi west of Upham.
DRAINAGE AREA - 975 mi² of which 605 mi² probably is noncontributing.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DAILY DISCHARGE--October 1957 to September 1980, March 1985 to current year (seasonal records only since 1985).

PERIOD OF RECORD.--DAILY GAGE HEIGHT--February 2000 to current year (seasonal records only).

Altitude of land-surface datum is 1431.23 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. NGVD29 Datum was converted to NAVD88 Datum using the National Geodetic Survey's VDATUM transformation tool in November 2017.

REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in April 1951 reached a stage of about 16 ft, discharge, 2,700 ft³/s, from information by local residents.
