LOCATION - Lat 48°32'10", long 94°33'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Lake of the Woods County, MN, Hydrologic Unit 09030007, on left bank 20 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 72, 1.2 mi downstream from North Branch Rapid River, and 12 mi south of Baudette.
DRAINAGE AREA - 581 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Unpublished, 2009: 1968(M); unpublished, 2015: 09/15/2014 to 10/28/2014, daily-mean discharges.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of June 11, 2002, reached a stage of 24.34 ft, from highwater mark; discharge approximately 8,700 ft³/s, from rating extended beyond 18.0 ft.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 7,580 ft³/s, gage height, 22.78 ft, June 26, 1985; maximum daily-mean discharge, 7,460 ft³/s, June 26, 1985; minimum discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Dec. 20, 1976 (from Dec. 20, 1976 to Mar. 9, 1977).
