LOCATION - Lat 43°08'03", long 89°43'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.25, T.8 N., R.6 E., Dane County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 07070005, on right bank, 0.8 mi east of Black Earth and 2.1 mi upstream from Vermont Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 45.6 mi² of which 2.80 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR WI-76-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1954 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 812.76 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Records are considered good except for estimated discharges which are poor and other periods as noted. Records for the 2018 water year are considered fair. For records status prior to October 1, 2013, see remarks printed in annual water-data reports. Some minor regulation from a quarry 1 mile upstream from Cross plains beginning in 2023.
