LOCATION - Lat 42°09'51.6", long 90°43'45.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.16, T.85 N., R.2 E., Jackson County, IA, Hydrologic Unit 07060006, on right bank downstream from County Highway E17, 7.0 mi northeast of Maquoketa, 0.25 mi upstream from Prairie Creek, 12.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 42.4 mi upstream from mouth of Maquoketa River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 505 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge records from April 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 678.58 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of July 24th 2010 reached a stage of 22.44ft with a discharge of 25,000cfs, at site of former gaging station at Fulton (station 05418450), 3.5 mi downstream, at datum 12.81 ft lower, discharge 10,700 ft³/s.
