on left bank at upstream side of bridge on State Highway 120, 2.5 mi southwest of Gurnee, and at mile 94.2.

REMARKS - Beginning around 1977, effluents from both the Waukegan and Gurnee sewage-treatment plants are discharged into the Des Plaines River within approximately 1.0 mi upstream from the gage. Discharges from the plants are about 35 ft³/s and 25 ft³/s, respectively for Waukegan and Gurnee. Collection, computation, and publication of precipitation data do not necessarily conform to standards used by the National Weather Service. Precipitation data could be subject to error for days with freezing and/or thawing of precipitation, which are identified as estimated (e).
