LOCATION - Lat 41°53'10.2", long 87°57'34.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.11, T.39 N., R.11 E., Du Page County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07120004, on left bank at upstream side of the Illinois Prairie Path Bikeway bridge in Elmhurst, and at mile 20.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 91.5 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-IL-75-1: Drainage area. WDR IL-77-1: 1961-76(M).
Revisions: Datum of gage is 651.64 ft above NAVD88 as determined by a GNSS Level II survey using GEOID18. Water years 1997-2004, datum published in error as 652.65 above NGVD of 1929. Water years 1989 to 1996, datum published in error as 655.00 ft above NGVD29.

Datum of gage is 651.64 ft. above NAVD of 1988. Prior to June 1, 1989, crest-stage gage at site 990 ft upstream at datum 8.56 ft higher.

REMARKS - Occasional regulation by sewage treatment plants upstream from gage. Since May 28, 1996, some flow temporarily diverted for flood control to Elmhurst Quarry Flood Control Reservoir about 1.0 miles upstream from gage. Collection, computation and publication of precipitation data do not necessarily conform to standards used by the National Weather Service. Precipitation data could be subject to error for days with freezing and/or thawing of precipitation, which are identified as estimated (e). Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Flood of March 22, 1948 reached a stage of 4.01 ft, discharge 1,130 ft³/s. Flood of April 26, 1950 reached a stage of 4.11 ft, discharge 1,160 ft³/s. Flood of October 10, 1954 reached a stage of 4.86 ft, discharge 1,380 ft³/s. Flood of July 12, 1957 reached a stage of 3.11 ft, discharge 895 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 2,290 ft³/s, April 18, 2013, gage height 13.90 ft; maximum gage height, 15.83 ft, present datum, August 27, 1972, discharge 2,230 ft³/s; minimum discharge, 4.76 ft³/s, ; June 10, 2021.
PRECIPITATION: Maximum daily total, 5.98 in., October 14, 2017.
