LOCATION - Lat 41°49'03", long 88°10'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.35, T.39 N., R.9 E., Du Page County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07120004, on left bank mounted to downstream bridge abutment on Warrenville Road in Warrenville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 90.7 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR IL-75-1: Drainage area.
Revisions: Gage datum was updated to 676.79 ft NAVD88 on Sept. 15, 2022, based on a GNSS Level II survey using GEOID18.

Water-stage recorder and satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 676.79 ft. above NAVD 1988. Prior to October 1968, nonrecording gage at same site, published as site 05540100 at datum 9.01 ft. higher. From October 1968 to August 2010, at site 0.3 mi upstream at datum 11.75 ft higher. Concrete control October 1968 to August 2010. Discharges considered equivalent.

REMARKS - Flow slightly regulated by sewage-treatment plants upstream. Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 4,930 ft³/s, Sept. 14, 2008, from rating curve extended above 3,100 ft³/s, gage height, 19.78 ft, present datum, site then in use; minimum daily discharge, 7.8 ft³/s, Sept. 14, 1971 and Oct. 26, 1971.
