LOCATION - Lat 40°40'02.6", long 89°30'14.02" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.36, T.26 N., R.4 W., Tazewell County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07130001, on right bank at upstream side of bridge, 0.2 mi. east of Farmdale, 0.3 mi. upstream from the Norfolk and Western Railway bridge, and 0.2 mi. downstream from the Toledo, Peoria and Western Railroad bridge and at mile 5.8.
DRAINAGE AREA - 27.4 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR IL-75-1: Drainage area.
Revisions: Gage datum was revised to 531.43 ft NAVD88 on January 30, 2023, as determined by a GNSS Level II survey. Gage datum was previously published in error as 530.12 ft NGVD29 from levels.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite telemeter, and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 531.43 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Mar. 5, 2002, water-stage recorder and concrete control at site 400 ft. downstream at same datum.
REMARKS - High flow regulated by Farmdale Dam 1 mi upstream since Aug. 16, 1951. Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 1,050 ft³/s, June 2, 1980, gage height, 4.43 ft, site then in use; maximum gage height 9.37 ft, May 12, 2002, discharge, 598 ft³/s; no flow during some years.
