LOCATION - Lat 47°32'49.69", long 112°22'02.75" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Teton County, MT, Hydrologic Unit 10030104, on left bank at old bridge abutment 360 ft upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 287, 1.6 mi downstream from Willow Creek, 4 mi northeast of Augusta, and at mile 71.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 814 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - The maximum gage height affected by backwater for water year 2016 was removed on August 4, 2021, based on reanalysis of data.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1967 to September 1974, October 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 3,567.85 ft, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS - Flow is regulated by Gibson, Pishkun, Willow Creek, and Nilan Reservoirs. Diversions for irrigation occur upstream from station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 46,700 ft³/s, June 9, 1964, gage height, 16.16 ft, from floodmark, from computation of contracted-opening measurement.
