LOCATION - Lat 43°13'18.9", long 108°13'10.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.19, T.3 N., R.6 E., Fremont County, WY, Hydrologic Unit 10080005, on right bank 1.2 mi upstream from normal high-water line of Boysen Reservoir at elevation 4,725 ft and 5.0 mi west of Shoshoni.
DRAINAGE AREA - 418 mi² of which 133 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1709: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1941 to September 1942, August 1948 to September 1983, October 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 4,750 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. May 10, 1941 to September 30, 1942, nonrecording gage at site 1.0 mi downstream from station at different datum. August 28, 1948 to September 30, 1983, at same site and datum. U.S. Geological Survey data collection platform with satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - Natural flow of stream affected by regulation from reservoir system in the headwaters, diversions for irrigation, and return flow from irrigated areas.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of July 24, 1923 from estimate provided by Bureau of Reclamation, gage height not determined.
