LOCATION - Lat 45°32'53.3", long 103°58'14.7" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 sec.02, T.18 N., R.1 E., Harding County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10110201, on left bank 15 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 20 at east edge of Camp Crook.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,974 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1309: 1904. WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Sept. 1903 to Nov. 1906, May 1956 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1309.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 3,099.65 ft. above NAVD of 1988. Sept. 2, 1903, to Nov. 30, 1906, nonrecording gage at site 0.5 mi upstream at different datum. May 1956 to Oct. 8, 1957, nonrecording gage at site 15 ft downstream, and Oct. 9, 1957, to Sept. 30, 1976, water-stage recorder at present site both at datum 2.00 ft higher.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 to 2018, records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. For water years 2019 onward, records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. Small diversions upstream from station for irrigation. Satellite data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of 1952 reached a stage of about 18 ft, present datum, from local residents.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Minimum daily discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Jul. 31, 1904, no flow at times in some years.
