LOCATION - Lat 46°25'36", long 102°33'05" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.13, T.134 N., R.95 W., Hettinger County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 10130204, on right bank 400 ft from bridge on county highway and 0.3 mi north of Regent.
DRAINAGE AREA - 580 mi². approximately.
PERIOD OF RECORD - DAILY DISCHARGE--September 1950 to current year.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--DAILY GAGE HEIGHT--October 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and V-notch sharp crested weir since June 1990. The weir was not effective from March 2010 to May 2012 due to erosion of the bank which allowed flows to bypass the weir. Datum of gage is 2424.6 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29) datum was converted to NAVD88 datum using the National Geodetic Surveys VDATUM transformation tool in November, 2017. Prior to October 1, 2017, datum was published as 2,422.90 ft above the NGVD29.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known since 1914, 26.1 ft, April 16, 1950, from floodmarks; peak flow, 20,300 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurement at site 4 mi downstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow, 10,000 ft³/s, March 27, 1978, peak stage, 20.55 ft.
