LOCATION - Lat 45°42'43", long 100°33'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.09, T.20 N., R.29 E., Corson County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10130106, on right bank at upstream side of bridge on farm access road, 1.6 mi east of Rattlesnake Butte, and 4.0 mi northwest of Wakpala.
DRAINAGE AREA - 355 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1984 to Sept. 2016 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 1,690 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS - For Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2016, records fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Satellite data-collection platform at station. Water temperature and specific conductance measured with each discharge measurement.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 19.62 ft, Mar. 27, 1997, backwater from ice, from floodmark; minimum daily discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Oct. 1, 1984, no flow for many days in most years.
