LOCATION - Lat 43°30'07.12", long 103°04'26.17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.29, T.6 S., R.9 E., Custer County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10120109, on upstream side of bridge, 5.8 mi upstream from Cottonwood Creek, and 12 mi east of Buffalo Gap, SD.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9,792 mi² of which 4 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-76-1: 1971-75(M), WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1968 to September 1980, March 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 2,812.85 ft. above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for, Oct. 15, 2020 to Oct. 12, 2022, which are fair and except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted.
