LOCATION - Lat 44°22'07", long 103°45'55" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.28, T.5 N., R.3 E., Lawrence County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10120202, on left bank 0.3 mi upstream from Blacktail Gulch, on State Highway 14A, at Central City.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4.82 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Feb. 2004 to Sept. 2015 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 4,870 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Jun. 18, 2007, at site 30 ft upstream at same datum.
REMARKS - For Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2015, records good except those for Oct. 1, 2014 to Sept. 30, 2015, which are fair and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Satellite data-collection platform at station. Water temperature and specific conductance measured with each discharge measurement.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 425 ft³/s, Aug. 3, 2010, from rating curve extended above 90 ft³/s, on the basis of two slope-area discharge measurements of peak flow, gage height, 5.30 ft, from floodmarks.
